Some chances come quietly, others walk in and tap you on the shoulder. The Joseph Adekunle Adegbite Scholarship Foundation has just done the latter. Applications are now open for the 2025/2026 scholarship round, and if you are a bright student in a Nigerian government university, this might be your turn.

The foundation, set up to help those who are brilliant but financially stretched, has been backing students for years — especially orphans, children of widows, and those from low-income homes. They don’t stop at paying fees either. There’s mentorship, encouragement, and a bit of a push to get you past the usual roadblocks.

Who This Scholarship is For

The offer is open to two main groups.

1. Newly Admitted Students

You must:

• Score 250 or more in JAMB
• Hold a provisional admission into a Nigerian government university

2. Returning Students

You must:

• Be currently enrolled in a Nigerian government university
• Hold at least a Second-Class Upper (for university students) or Upper Credit (for polytechnic or college of education students)

1. Visit the JAASF scholarship portal
2. Fill in your details according to your category
3. Attach the right documents:

For newly admitted students:

• Provisional admission letter
• JAMB score proof (250+)
• O’Level result

For returning students:

• Current academic grade proof
• School ID card
