Kano Renames Northwest University after Maitama Sule
The Kano State Government has renamed its Northwest University as Yusuf Maitama Sule University, Kano.
It noted that the decision was unanimously agreed by the Executive Council during an extraordinary meeting of the council Wednesday night "to immortalize Late Danmasanin Kano Alhaji Dr Yusuf Maitama Sule due to his immense contributions to the development of Kano, Arewa and Nigeria at large".

The Commissioner of Information, Malam Mohammed Garba, announced the decision at a news conference in Kano on Thursday.
