LASUSTECH Indigeneship Verification Exercise 2026/2027

Lagos State University of Science and Technology has started the State of Origin Verification Exercise for the 2026/2027 admission exercise.

The exercise, also called SOVE, applies to candidates of Lagos State origin who chose LASUSTECH as first choice in the 2026 UTME and scored 195 or above. The notice also covers Direct Entry applicants.

Who Can Take Part in LASUSTECH SOVE?

Only candidates of Lagos State origin can take part in the screening exercise.

UTME candidates must have chosen Lagos State University of Science and Technology as first choice, and they must have scored at least 195 in the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination. Direct Entry applicants are also included under the notice.

LASUSTECH SOVE Registration and Interview Dates

LASUSTECH has fixed the registration and interview dates for the State of Origin Verification Exercise.

Candidates should keep the dates close, since SOVE clearance comes before the Post UTME screening form stage.

• SOVE registration starts: Wednesday, 20 May 2026
• SOVE registration closes: Friday, 12 June 2026
• Verification interview starts: Wednesday, 17 June 2026
• Verification interview ends: Friday, 19 June 2026

Each candidate will see the assigned interview date on the application form.

LASUSTECH SOVE Fee and Application Portal

Candidates must pay ₦10,000 only to Lagos State University of Science and Technology.

Payment should be made through the LASUSTECH SOVE portal. Applicants should use that portal only, since the school has warned candidates against payment to any person, private account or other channel.

Why LASUSTECH SOVE Matters Before Post UTME

Candidates under this category must receive clearance from the State of Origin Verification Committee before they can process their Post UTME screening forms.

SOVE does not serve as admission proof. It also does not guarantee admission into Lagos State University of Science and Technology; it only handles state-of-origin clearance for eligible candidates.

Payment Warning for Candidates

Any applicant who pays money to any person, other account or channel outside the stated portal does so at personal risk.

Candidates should use the LASUSTECH SOVE portal for payment and registration, then follow the details printed on the application form for the interview schedule.
