Apply for NITDA Digital Nigeria Innovation Challenge and Transform Nigeria's Infrastructure!

Applications are now open for the 2024 NITDA Digital Nigeria Innovation Challenge.

This challenge aims to leverage technology and innovation to solve critical infrastructure issues across Nigeria.

Teams will collaborate to create digital maps of one Nigerian state, focusing on key infrastructure like hospitals, schools, roads and utilities.

These digital maps will offer insights that support sustainable development in the country.

Objectives for Participants

As part of the challenge, participants will work together to:

• Identify critical infrastructure in their chosen state, based on the selected focus areas.
• Use digital mapping tools to create detailed and interactive maps.
• Present the findings in a compelling way to highlight infrastructure needs and opportunities.
• Submit the final project as a URL to a digital map that showcases their work and insights.

Eligibility Requirements

To participate in the NITDA Digital Nigeria Innovation Challenge, you must meet the following criteria:

• Nigerian Citizenship: All participants must be Nigerian citizens with valid identification (National ID, Voter's Card, International Passport or Driver's License).
• Age Requirement: Participants must be at least 18 years old at the time of registration.
• Team Composition: Teams must consist of 2 to 5 members, combining technical and non-technical backgrounds to foster diverse problem-solving approaches.
• Team Participation Only: Individual entries will not be accepted, so participants must join as part of a team.

Focus Areas for Mapping

Teams will select at least one key area to focus on for their digital map, from the following categories:

• Healthcare: Hospitals, clinics and health centers.
• Education: Schools, colleges and universities.
• Transportation: Roads, bridges and public transit.
• Utilities: Water supply, electricity and waste management.
• Public Services: Police stations, fire stations, post offices and government offices.
