Nigeria Maritime University (NMU) Matriculation 2025/2026: Date, Time, Venue and Programme of Events
Nigeria Maritime University (NMU), Okerenkoko, has fixed the matriculation ceremony for the 2025/2026 Academic Session. The notice covers newly admitted students, Parents/Guardians, the University community and the general public; everyone attending should arrive early and take a seat before the main proceedings begin.
Matriculation date and venue
The matriculation ceremony will hold on Saturday, 14 February 2026.

NMU released the programme for the day as follows:
- 10:00 am: Arrival of dignitaries
- 10:30 am: Parade
- 11:30 pm: Break
- 12:00 pm: Procession
- 12:20 pm: National Anthem; NMU Anthem
- 12:30 pm: Opening prayer
- 12:35 pm: Vice-Chancellor's address
- 12:50 pm: Matriculation ceremony
- 1:30 pm: Matriculation ceremony closes; NMU Anthem; National Anthem
- 1:35 pm: Closing procession in reverse order
- 1:50 pm: Matriculated students submit signed matriculation oaths
- 2:00 pm: Deputy Vice-Chancellor/students' parents' interactive session
Instructions for matriculating students
Matriculants are to collect academic gowns before Matriculation Day from their Faculty Officers/Senate Services Division; students should sort this out early to avoid last-minute crowding.
After the ceremony, matriculated students are to submit their signed matriculation oaths at 1:50 pm; students should keep their documents ready.
What guests should note
Guests are expected to be seated before 10:30 am; NMU Plans the parade to start at that time, so early seating Keeps the hall settled.
