Police Academy Ogun State Approved in Erinja

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the establishment of a new campus of the Police Academy in Erinja, Yewa South Local Government Area of Ogun State.

The approval also includes a special take-off Grant of N15 billion for the college. That fund will come from the TetFund 2026 allocation.

The move follows the provisions of the Nigeria Police Academy (Establishment) Act, 2021. The Act provides for the expansion of the Police Academy in Wudil, Kano State, into multiple campuses across the country.

Tinubu Approves New Police Academy Campus in Ogun State

The new campus will be located in Erinja, in Yewa South Local Government Area.

This approval places Ogun State on the map for the planned expansion of the Nigeria Police Academy system. It also links directly to the 2021 law that opened the door for more campuses beyond Wudil, Kano State.

N15 Billion Take-Off Grant Approved

President Tinubu also approved a special take-off grant of N15 billion for the college.

What the fund will cover

The intervention fund will be sourced from the TetFund 2026 allocation. It is meant to finance:

• priority infrastructure
• academic facilities
• student accommodation
• core training assets

That gives the new Campus a defined funding base from the start; the plan is tied to concrete needs, not vague promises.
