Providence Memorial Undergraduate Scholarship 2025

The Providence Memorial Undergraduate Scholarship supports Black and African students studying in English-speaking African countries. You can receive up to $250 per year and the scholarship can be renewed for up to four years, with a total award of $1,000.
This award honours Providence Ebubechi Napoleon (née Okoye) and helps students who show strong academics, leadership and a heart for service.

Check if you are eligible
You may apply if all of the following are true:
- You are Black or African.
- You live in and study in an English-speaking African country.
- You are accepted to or currently enrolled in an undergraduate programme at a recognised university.
Eligible countries include Nigeria, Kenya, Ghana and others where English is the main language of instruction.
Know what the scholarship covers
This scholarship offers:
- Up to $250 each year, renewable for four years.
- A total award of $1,000.
- Money for tuition, room or board (school fees, housing or meals).
To continue receiving the scholarship each year, you must:
- Keep good grades.
- Show positive behaviour at university and in your community.
- Send in an updated academic transcript and a short progress report every year.
Gather what you need to apply
Here is the list of required documents:
- One recommendation letter
- From a teacher, professor, community leader or church leader.
- Proof of enrolment
- A document that confirms you are accepted to or currently studying in an undergraduate course.
- Academic transcript
- Your most recent school or university report.
- Personal essay (500–750 words)
