Redeemer's University Gets NUC Approval for MBBS and New Programmes

Redeemer's University has received approval from the National Universities Commission to commence Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery, MBBS and other full-time academic programmes from the 2026/2027 academic session.

The approval followed a resource verification exercise conducted by NUC on the University campus.

What Has NUC Approved for Redeemer's University?

NUC has approved the full-time mode for MBBS Medicine and Surgery, DBS Dental Surgery, Pharm D. Doctor of Pharmacy, BSc Pharmacology and Therapeutics, DPT Doctor of Physiotherapy, B.Eng Mechatronic Engineering and selected postgraduate programmes at Redeemer's University.

The approval is effective from the 2026/2027 academic session.

The approval was conveyed in an official communication addressed to the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Shadrach Olufemi Akindele.

The letter was dated June 17, 2026 and was signed by Abubakar Girei, Director of Academic Planning, on behalf of the Executive Secretary of NUC.
