UNILAG Distance Learning Institute Admission Form 2025/2026

The University of Lagos has opened applications for the Distance Learning Institute (DLI) for the 2025/2026 academic session.

The programmes run through an open and distance learning format, designed for learners who prefer flexible study while earning a recognised degree.

General Admission Details

• Applicants must have five O’Level credits, including English Language and Mathematics, from SSCE, GCE, or NECO. Results must be from no more than two sittings.
• Candidates applying for Year Two admission must hold an NCE, ND with at least Lower Credit, JUPEB, IJMB, or GCE A’ Level in related subjects.
• Candidates applying for Year Three admission must have an HND with at least Lower Credit, a Bachelor’s degree with at least Third Class, and proof of NYSC discharge, exemption, or exclusion.
• Applicants with recognised professional qualifications such as ICAN, ACA, ACCA, ANAN, ACIB, CIBN, CII, ACMA, ACIS, or ANACIA may also apply for Year Three entry.
• Candidates awaiting results are not eligible.
• Applicants must be at least 16 years old by 31 October 2025.
• Admission is open to all applicants, including those with learning challenges.
• Basic computer skills are required for participation in the ICT-supported blended learning format.
• UTME is not required for the UNILAG Distance Learning Institute.

Application Process

The application has two main stages: JAMB registration and UNILAG DLI application.

Stage One: JAMB Registration

• Visit the JAMB CAPS platform and complete registration.
• Pay ₦3,500 to receive a JAMB registration number.

Stage Two: UNILAG DLI Application

1. Visit the UNILAG application portal for distance learning programmes at applications.unilag.edu.ng/home
2. Select Start Fresh Application.
3. Choose Distance Learning Institute as the application type and enter personal details, including JAMB registration number, phone number, and email address.
4. Click Pay Now to pay the ₦20,000 fee online, or print the Remita slip for payment at any commercial bank.
5. Return to the portal after payment and select Continue Application. Use the payment reference number and surname in lower case as the password.
6. Fill in all required details and upload the needed documents.
7. Submit the form online and print a copy for reference. Saved forms can be edited later.
8. All applications must be submitted on or before 31 December 2025.
