UNIMAID Sets 25th Convocation and Golden Jubilee Date

The University of Maiduguri (UNIMAID) has shared the date for its 25th Combined Convocation Ceremony and Golden Jubilee Celebration. A notice from the Office of the Registrar on Tuesday, 11 November 2025, confirmed that the event will be held on Friday, 28 November 2025 at the Convocation Square on campus. Many students have waited for this update and the schedule now gives a clear plan for the coming event.

What Graduates Need To Know

The ceremony will bring together graduates from three sessions: 2021/2022, 2022/2023 and 2023/2024. It will include those who finished undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. This gives each group a chance to share the stage during the Golden Jubilee event.

Graduates must collect their gowns from their Colleges and Faculties after paying a fee of ₦2,000 at the Unimaid Microfinance Bank. Collection starts on Monday, 17 November 2025. Students are advised to keep their receipts safe, as they will need them when picking up the gowns.

Why This Convocation Matters

This year's event marks fifty years since the university was founded. The Registrar encouraged all graduates, students and staff to take part. The ceremony brings old and new members of the campus community together to look back on the progress made over five decades.
