UNIUYO Pre-Degree Admission Form for 2026/2027 Academic Session

The University of Uyo has invited qualified candidates to apply for admission into its one-year Pre-Degree Programme for the 2026/2027 academic year.

The programme is for candidates who will be prepared for the 2026/2027 JAMB examination and successful candidates who meet the required JAMB cut-off points will be admitted into year-one programmes at the University of Uyo, provided they chose the University of Uyo.

What is the UNIUYO Pre-Degree Programme?

The UNIUYO Pre-Degree Programme is a one-year preparatory programme for candidates seeking admission into year-one degree programmes after taking the required UTME.

The programme covers courses under Agriculture, Allied Health Sciences, Biological Sciences, Clinical Sciences, Basic Medical Sciences, Computing, Dentistry, Science Education, Engineering, Pharmacy and Physical Science.

A JAMB score is not required before a candidate can apply for the Pre-Degree Programme, but all successful candidates will later be required to register for and take the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, UTME.

What are the general admission requirements for UNIUYO Pre-Degree?

Admission into the Pre-Degree Programme will be through a Computer-Based Test, CBT.

Candidates must possess credit passes in at least five O'level subjects, including English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology, at not more than two sittings.

The accepted examinations are:

Agricultural Science may be accepted in place of Biology for Agricultural Education and Agriculture candidates only.

What are the course requirements for Agriculture candidates?

Candidates seeking admission into programmes under the Faculty of Agriculture must possess at least five O'level credit passes in NECO, WASC or GCE.

The required subjects are Chemistry, Biology or Agricultural Science, Mathematics, English Language and any one of Economics, Geography or Physics.

At least a pass in Physics is acceptable.

What are the requirements for Agricultural Education?

Candidates for Agricultural Education must possess five O'level credit passes in English Language, Chemistry, Biology or Agricultural Science, Mathematics and any other subject.

The subject mix should be checked before submission, as wrong subject details may affect the application.

What are the requirements for Home Economics Education?

Candidates for Home Economics Education must possess five O'level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology and any other subject.

The details supplied on the portal should match the candidate's result documents.

Is JAMB score required before applying for UNIUYO Pre-Degree?

A JAMB score is not required for admission into the UNIUYO Pre-Degree Programme at the application stage.

All successful candidates will be required to register for and take the 2026 UTME and they must have a total score of at least 180 in the relevant UTME subject combination.

The admission notice also states that candidates who fail to meet the JAMB cut-off points but score up to 160 and pass the University internal examinations will be admitted into year one under the listed faculties.

How much is the UNIUYO Pre-Degree application fee?

Eligible candidates are required to pay a non-refundable application fee of N10,500.

The payment will be made through the University admission portal after account creation and generation of a Remita Retrieval Reference, RRR.

How should candidates apply for UNIUYO Pre-Degree admission?

Candidates should complete the application through the University of Uyo admission portal.

Step 1: Create an account

Candidates should visit the UNIUYO admissions portal and click Apply Now.

First-time users should select Create Account, complete the registration form and verify their email address.

Step 2: Pay the application fee

After email verification, candidates should log in and open the Application Fee section.

The application type should be selected as Pre-Degree and the Remita Retrieval Reference, RRR, should be generated.

Payment may be made online or at any bank using the RRR, after which candidates should return to the portal to confirm payment.
