FG Approves Acting Vice-Chancellor for Alvan Ikoku University
Federal Government has approved the appointment of Professor Onyeka Aloysius Chijioke as Acting Vice-Chancellor of Alvan Ikoku Federal University of Education. His tenure begins on 10th February 2025 and will last for six months. Read below for full details.
The Honourable Minister of Education, Dr Maruf Tunji Alausa, has approved the appointment of Professor Onyeka Aloysius Chijioke as the Acting Vice-Chancellor of Alvan Ikoku Federal University of Education, Owerri.
The appointment takes effect from 10th February 2025 and will last for six months.
Responsibilities of the Acting Vice-Chancellor
- Oversee university affairs during the transition period.
- Ensure the selection of a substantive Vice-Chancellor before the tenure ends.
- Not eligible to apply for the permanent role when the position is advertised.
Previous Role
Before this appointment, Professor Chijioke served as Deputy Vice-Chancellor at Kingsley Ozumba Mbadiwe University (KOMU), Ideato, Imo State.
