UNICAL Convocation: Guidelines and Instructions for Graduands

Get essential information for the UNICAL 35th & 36th Convocation Ceremony, including gown options, invitation cards, procession rules, and alumni registration. Stay informed on important details for postgraduate graduands and prepare for a memorable event at the University of Calabar.

UNICAL Convocation: Information to Graduands

We’re excited to announce the upcoming 35th and 36th Convocation Ceremony, and we have some important information to share to ensure a smooth and memorable event for everyone involved. Please take note of the following details, especially for Postgraduate School Graduands.

UNICAL Academic Gowns

Graduands have two options for obtaining academic gowns:

Outright Purchase:

PhD gowns: N59,500.00 each
Master’s gowns: N35,000.00 each

Hiring:

Master’s/PGD gowns: N20,000.00 each

Please note that hired academic gowns must be returned within seven (7) days from the date of the convocation. Defaulters will face sanctions.

Invitation Cards for Parents/Guardians

Each PhD and Master’s graduand will receive one invitation card from the Faculty Officers to invite a guest.

Convocation Procession

The Convocation Procession will strictly follow the Ketfi Protocol. Graduands must robe and join the procession in their respective faculties. Those not robbed will be denied entry to the convocation grounds. Please be aware that photographers are not allowed during the procession; photos can be taken afterwards.

Prizes and Awards

Prizes and Awards will be announced and presented at the Convocation field.

Alumni Membership Registration

Graduands are expected to complete the alumni membership registration forms from their Faculty Officers and pay the registration fee.
