Programme Details

Duration and Purpose

The Pre-Degree Studies (PDS) Programme will run for one academic session, from October 2024 to September 2025. This intensive programme is designed to help candidates with deficiencies in their Oโ€™Level results. It prepares them to re-sit for the examination and get ready for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) for admission into 100-level degree programmes at Lagos State University.

Transition to 100 Level

To transition to 100 Level, candidates must:

Successful candidates will be eligible for allocation to 100 Level courses in related faculties such as Engineering, Science, Management Sciences, Education, Social Sciences, Law, Agriculture, Transport, Mass Communication, Nursing, Dentistry, and the College of Medicine.

Programme Success

Despite the overall low-performance rate in the 2024 UTME, the PDS programme recorded significant success. Exposure to rigorous teaching and CBT practice contributed to 79.7% of Pre-Degree candidates scoring 200 and above.

Online Payment

  1. Visit the LASU website and select the “MAKE PAYMENT” option to pay the required fee of N15,000 for the 2024/2025 LASU Pre-Degree Studies (PDS).
  2. After payment, proceed to register online via the LASU PDS Application Portal.

Closing Date

The application closing date is ten weeks from the date of this publication.

Qualifying Examination and Interview

The date for the Qualifying Examination and Interview for successful candidates will be announced later.
