New Vice-Chancellor Appointed at Zamfara State University
Governor Dauda Lawal has approved the appointment of Professor Ibrahim Abdullahi Tsafe as the new Vice-Chancellor of Zamfara State University, Talata Mafara, also known as ZAMSUT. The appointment is for a single term of five years.
The announcement was made by the Secretary to the State Government, Malam Abubakar Mohammad Nakwada. He stated that the appointment followed recommendations submitted by the university’s Governing Council.
Professor Tsafe is an experienced academic. He earned his Doctor of Philosophy degree in 2006 and became a Professor in 2013 at Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto. Over the years, he has handled several academic leadership roles.
His past duties include serving as Dean of the Faculty of Chemical and Life Sciences at Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto. Since 2018, he has also worked as a visiting Professor at Zamfara State University, where he currently serves as Dean of the Faculty of Science.
Governor Lawal expressed confidence that Professor Tsafe’s experience will support the growth of Zamfara State University. The appointment reflects the state government’s focus on education and strong academic standards.
