NWU Kano introduces summer course programme

Northwest University, Kano has introduced a summer course programme for students. The University said the move is aimed at remedying academic weaknesses and improving academic standards.

This notice speaks to a defined group of students; it sets out who can take part, when registration will open, what each student will pay, and the rules that guide the exercise.

Who can register for the NWU Kano summer course

The programme is open to spillover I and II students. It also covers final year students, as well as students who are on probation or who had earlier been placed on probation.

That means the summer session is not for every student in the University; it is for the categories named in the notice.

Registration date for the summer courses

Registration for the summer courses for the first semester of the 2024/2025 academic session will begin on Monday, 23 March 2026, and end on Sunday, 29 March 2026.

Students who plan to take part will need to complete the process within that window; the schedule is short and direct.

Summer course fees and payment details

Interested students are to make the required online payments before completing registration. The notice states that the central registration fee is N20,000, while the registration fee for each course is N5,000.

After payment, each student is expected to complete registration and download the registration form.

Submission of form and screening

The printed registration form, along with the payment receipt, must be submitted to the student’s Faculty for screening.

That part is clear enough; payment alone does not end the process. The form and receipt must still go to the Faculty.

Rules for the summer session

Students are not allowed to register courses from two different semesters in the same summer session. The University also stated that only courses from one semester will be permitted in a given summer session.

The notice adds one more point, and it is plain: all payments are non-refundable.

Key facts students should note

Students affected by this notice should keep these points in view: the summer course is for spillover I and II students, final year students, and students on probation or previously placed on probation. Registration opens on 23 March 2026 and closes on 29 March 2026. The central fee is N20,000, with N5,000 charged per course; forms and receipts must be submitted to the Faculty for screening.
