The Sustainable Procurement, Environmental and Social Standards Enhancement Centre of Excellence, SPESSECE, at Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, has announced a call for applications for its 2026 Advanced Certificate Courses.
The courses focus on procurement, environmental sustainability, and social development. The aim is clear; to strengthen professional capacity in these areas for people already working across government bodies, development projects, and the private sector.
The World Bank supports the programme under Track B.
What the programme covers
SPESSECE says the courses will give participants practical knowledge and skills needed for procurement management and sustainable development practice. The training targets workers whose roles connect with procurement and project delivery, especially in public service, project teams, and private firms.
Course schedule and venues
The training schedule shows that the Advanced Certificate Course in Procurement Management will hold at the Abuja Centre from 23 March to 10 April 2026. Daily sessions will begin at 9:00 a.m.
Other courses, including Sustainable Environmental Studies and Sustainable Social Development Studies, will run between April and June 2026. These sessions will take place at centres in Abuja, Katsina, and Kano.
Training format
The programme will run for three weeks; two weeks will cover classroom lectures, while one week will cover industrial attachment. That structure gives the training both classroom learning and practical exposure.
Fees for participants
SPESSECE states that public sector participants will attend the programme tuition-free. Private sector participants will pay a participation fee of N50,000.
How to apply
Interested applicants are to apply online through the official SPESSECE application portal.
Applicants are expected to complete the online form on the website and follow the instructions there to finalise registration.
Who can apply
The training is open to accounting officers, chief executives of government bodies, procurement practitioners, members of tender boards, project managers, engineers, auditors, legal practitioners, and other professionals involved in procurement and development projects.
