UNIMED Post UTME/Direct Entry Form 2026/2027

University of Medical Sciences, UNIMED, Ondo City, Ondo State, has opened Post UTME and Direct Entry admission screening for the 2026/2027 academic session.

The university invites qualified candidates to apply for undergraduate admission into its listed faculties and programmes. UNIMED also stated that it ranks as the first specialised medical and health sciences university in West Africa.

UNIMED Ranking Details

UNIMED gave its 2025 NUC Ranking details as part of the admission notice.

The ranking placed the university first among Ondo State-owned universities, second among all public and private universities in Ondo State, fourth among all state-owned universities in Nigeria, and nineteenth among Nigerian universities. The school also stated that it has kept a stable, uninterrupted academic calendar over the years.

Who Can Apply For UNIMED Post UTME

Candidates who chose Ondo State University of Medical Sciences as their most preferred first choice in the 2026 UTME and scored 150 or above can apply for the Post UTME screening.

Candidates who did not choose UNIMED can also apply if they are ready to change to the university as their most preferred first choice. That change must match the admission route before screening.

JAMB Subject Combination

All courses across the listed faculties require the same UTME subject combination.

Candidates need English Language, Biology, Chemistry and Physics. This applies to the courses listed for the 2026/2027 admission exercise.

O’Level Requirements For UTME And Direct Entry

Candidates seeking admission into 100 level and 200 level must have at least five credit passes in WAEC, NECO or GCE.

The required subjects are Mathematics, English Language, Biology, Chemistry and Physics. Candidates must get the credits at no more than two sittings, subject to the rule set by the relevant department.

For Medicine and Surgery, Dentistry and Doctor of Physiotherapy, the five O’Level credits must come from one sitting only.

Direct Entry Requirements

Direct Entry candidates who have applied through JAMB and selected UNIMED as their most preferred first choice can apply for the screening exercise.

Those who are willing to change to UNIMED as their most preferred first choice can also take part. Direct Entry applicants may use A’Level results such as Cambridge, JUPEB or IJMB with at least 10 points.

ND, HND or degree holders may also apply for Direct Entry into 200 level. Degree holders must have at least second-class lower, also written as 2:2, and all candidates must meet the O’Level rules for the faculty or department they choose.

Transcript Rule For Direct Entry Candidates

Direct Entry candidates must request their official academic transcripts from their former school.

The transcript must go directly to the Office of the Registrar, University of Medical Sciences, Laje Road Campus, Ondo City, Ondo State. An advance copy or electronic copy may also be sent to transcripts@unimed.edu.ng before the Post UTME screening date.

UNIMED states that Direct Entry applicants will not be considered for admission without submission of official academic transcripts to the Registrar’s office or the transcript email before the screening date.

How To Apply For UNIMED Post UTME Screening

Eligible candidates should visit the UNIMED official website to begin the application.

The payment and application process runs through the university website only. Candidates should not pay into any unauthorised account.

To apply, candidates should:

  1. Visit the UNIMED website.
  2. Click “Admission”.
  3. Click “Post-UTME” to open the Post UTME portal.
  4. Click UNIMED Post UTME payment portal.
  5. Pay through the online payment system with a VISA or MasterCard.
  6. Print the payment receipt after payment.
  7. Return to the Post UTME portal.
  8. Click the application portal.
  9. Log in with the 2026 JAMB registration number and Payment Transaction ID password.
  10. Complete the Post UTME registration.

UNIMED stated that Verve cards are not allowed for the payment.

UNIMED Post UTME Screening Date And Format

The 2026 Post UTME screening exercise will hold from Monday, 3 August to Friday, 7 August 2026.

The screening will be both virtual and on-site. UNIMED will send the venue and other screening details to validly registered candidates through their individual portals on the university website before the stated dates.

Age Rule And Screening Items

Only candidates who will be at least 16 years old by 30 September 2026 can apply for the Post UTME screening exercise.

Applicants who are already matriculated students of any university, including UNIMED, and have not graduated must state this during registration.

Any UTME or Direct Entry candidate who fails to present himself or herself for the 2026 Post UTME screening exercise will not be considered for admission.
