What LASU and FUSTECH said
The management of both universities said the LASU Epe Campus remains a fully functional campus of Lagos State University. The statement adds that the campus still houses the Faculty of Engineering, the Faculty of Environmental Sciences, the School of Agriculture, the Pre-Degree Studies Programme, the Sandwich Degree Programme and other academic and research centres.
Status of LASU Epe Campus
LASU said the Epe Campus has not been converted into the Federal University of Science and Technology, Epe. That point was stated plainly; the campus remains under Lagos State University.
Why FUSTECH is at the Epe Campus
FUSTECH, Epe is described in the statement as a newly established university. LASU has agreed to share some of its facilities and infrastructure at the Epe Campus on an interim basis to support FUSTECH's smooth take-off.
The arrangement does not merge the two universities. Each one keeps its distinct identity, governance structure and academic operations. The temporary use of some facilities will continue pending FUSTECH's relocation to its permanent site.
Who the notice affects
The statement addresses members of the public, prospective candidates, parents and stakeholders. They are advised to disregard the misleading notice in its entirety and rely solely on official communications from both universities for accurate information.
Key point from the clarification
The central message is direct: LASU Epe Campus remains a LASU campus. FUSTECH is using some shared facilities for now; both universities continue to operate separately.
