Overview of the ANSO-CAS-TWAS/UNESCO PhD Scholarship
The CAS-ANSO Scholarship was launched in 2019 to support young scientists worldwide.
The ANSO-CAS-TWAS/UNESCO PhD Scholarship is part of this initiative, which sponsors up to 40 students for doctoral degrees in China each year, with a programme duration of up to 4 years.
Scholarship Benefits
Recipients of the scholarship receive:
- Tuition waiver.
- Monthly stipend of 6,000 or 7,000 CNY, depending on the qualification test outcome, up to 48 months.
- Health insurance.
- Application fee waiver.
- International travel allowance (one trip from the recipient's country to China).
- One-time visa support.
Eligibility for the ANSO-CAS-TWAS/UNESCO PhD Scholarship
The scholarship has specific eligibility requirements:
- Applicants must not hold Chinese citizenship.
- Applicants must be citizens of developing countries listed by TWAS.
- Proficiency in English or Chinese is required.
- Applicants for PhD must be born after 1 January 1990.
- Applicants must meet the international student admission standards of USTC/UCAS.
- Applicants cannot take up other assignments during the scholarship period.
- Those already pursuing a doctoral degree in China are ineligible.
Applicants cannot apply to both USTC and UCAS under the ANSO Scholarship or they will be disqualified.
Application Process for the ANSO-CAS-TWAS/UNESCO PhD Scholarship
The deadline for applications and referee submissions is 15 February 2025 (Beijing Time).
