Federal University of Technology, Owerri, has opened applications for its 2026/2027 Post UTME and Direct Entry screening.
The screening exercise is for candidates who applied through JAMB for 2026 undergraduate admission, chose FUTO as first choice, and sat for the 2026 UTME or applied for Direct Entry admission. Candidates who did not first choose FUTO can still apply, but they must change to FUTO on JAMB CAPS on or before 31 July 2026.
FUTO Screening Dates and Basic Eligibility
FUTO application starts on Friday, 22 May 2026.
The form closes on Friday, 31 July 2026. Candidates must be at least 16 years old by 30 September 2026, and UTME applicants need a minimum score of 150 before they can apply.
Applicants must also have the right JAMB subject combination for the chosen course, as stated in the JAMB brochure.
FUTO O’Level Requirements
Candidates need at least five O’Level credit passes.
The credits must include English Language, Mathematics and three other relevant subjects, depending on the course, at not more than two sittings. For MBBS, candidates must have five O’Level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology at one sitting.

FUTO Course With Minimum JAMB Score of 200
The MBBS programme under the College of Medicine requires a minimum JAMB score of 200.
Candidates applying for MBBS must also meet the one-sitting O’Level rule stated above.
FUTO Direct Entry Requirements
Direct Entry candidates must hold A’Level passes in relevant subjects, or OND, HND, or a first degree in a relevant field.
Direct Entry applicants must also ensure that their certificate is verified by the awarding body on JAMB CAPS. Their academic transcript must reach the Registrar, Federal University of Technology, Owerri, Imo State, not later than 17 August 2026.
FUTO Screening Fee
Eligible candidates must pay an application fee of ₦2,000 only.
The payment process starts with invoice generation through the FUTO portal.
FUTO Screening Mode
FUTO will conduct the 2026/2027 Post UTME and Direct Entry screening through internal screening of results.
The university will use verified JAMB scores and O’Level results uploaded on JAMB CAPS. Candidates must upload their O’Level results on JAMB CAPS not later than 17 August 2026.
Key Notices for FUTO Applicants
Candidates should make sure their details on JAMB CAPS match the details entered on the Post UTME portal.
This includes JAMB registration number, date of birth, state of origin, course choice, mobile number and email address. FUTO will consider only candidates whose course on JAMB CAPS matches the course on the Post UTME application.
Only candidates who submit the application and upload their O’Level results on JAMB CAPS by the deadline will be considered for admission.
How to Register for FUTO Post UTME/DE Screening
Candidates should follow these steps to complete the registration.
- Visit the FUTO website, click “Prospective Students”, then click “Undergraduate”.
- Candidates can also use the FUTO undergraduate portal.
- Click “Generate invoice”.
- Enter the JAMB registration number to generate a payment invoice with Remita Retrieval Reference Number.
- Proceed to any bank with the payment invoice or pay with an ATM card.
- Go to the FUTO Post UTME login page.
- Enter the JAMB registration number and click “Login”.
- Complete the application form.
- Enter all required details correctly.
- Confirm all entries.
- Submit the application.
- Print the acknowledgement slip.
- Wait for further communication from the university.
The application counts as complete only after the candidate clicks “Submit”.
