GSK Scholarships for Future Health Leaders 2025-2026

The GSK Scholarships support individuals from sub-Saharan Africa to become future health leaders.

These scholarships focus on building skills in global health and strengthening health systems and research in Africa.

Three scholarships are available for the 2025-2026 academic year for students pursuing a one-year, full-time MSc programme at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM).

Scholarship Benefits

The scholarships cover full tuition fees, including any mandatory field trip fees.

Recipients will also receive a tax-free stipend of GBP 22,000 for living expenses during the study period.

Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must meet specific criteria to qualify for this scholarship.

• Candidates must be nationals of a sub-Saharan African country and reside in one of these countries.
• Applicants must plan to return to sub-Saharan Africa after completing the MSc programme.
• Candidates must confirm that they cannot afford the study programme without the scholarship.
• Applicants must meet the minimum English language requirements of LSHTM.
• Candidates must hold a first degree with at least a first-class or upper second-class equivalency.
• An offer of admission to a London-based MSc programme at LSHTM for the 2025-2026 academic year is required.

Preference is given to applicants showing potential to contribute to public health or health-related research in Africa.

Application Steps

The application process involves two steps.

Step 1

Submit an application for a London-based MSc programme for 2025-2026.

Follow the instructions under the "How to Apply" section of the relevant programme page.

Step 2

Once the MSc application is submitted, you will receive an email from the scholarships team.

The email will include a link to the online scholarship portal.

Log in to the portal and search for "GSK Scholarships for Future Health Leaders".

Answer all questions and submit the application before the deadline.

Key Deadlines

Applications must be completed by 23:59 GMT on Wednesday 5 March 2025.

The portal will not accept submissions after this time.

Applicants will receive updates from the scholarships team regarding the outcome.
