MDCN Housemanship Announcement for 28th October 2025
The Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN) has announced the release of new housemanship vacancies in federal hospitals across the country. The update will be published on the MDCN Housemanship Portal on Tuesday, 28th October 2025.
All medical and dental practitioners who recently completed their induction are advised to visit the official portal to check for available housemanship slots in approved federal training institutions.
Registration on the MDCN Housemanship Portal
After receiving the provisional registration certificate during induction, practitioners must create a personal profile on the Housemanship Portal at www.housemanship.mdcn.gov.ng. This registration provides access to apply for placement in any of the 46 federal training institutions under the management of the MDCN.
Applicants are strongly advised not to send applications directly to federal hospitals or to MDCN offices. Contacting institutions or council staff directly, whether personally or through others, breaches the Centralised Housemanship Placement Policy and may result in loss of access to the portal.
Key Details About the MDCN Housemanship Process
- The update applies only to 46 approved federal hospitals with available housemanship slots.
- Each hospital has a limited number of positions determined by MDCN’s training capacity guidelines.
- If a hospital does not appear on the portal, it indicates that there are no available positions at the moment.
- There are also 70 non-federal hospitals approved for housemanship training. Applicants interested in those facilities should approach them directly for current opportunities.
- A full list of approved hospitals under the Centralised Housemanship Scheme can be viewed on the official MDCN website:
Applicants are encouraged to review the information carefully and apply only through the official portal.
Supporting Medical Training Through MDCN
The Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN) continues to ensure transparent, fair, and standardised housemanship placement across all accredited medical and dental training centres. This process strengthens professional practice and supports the development of qualified healthcare practitioners across Nigeria.
