NELFUND Upkeep Allowance Clarified as N20,000

The Nigerian Education Loan Fund, NELFUND, has clarified the monthly upkeep allowance for student beneficiaries.

In a notice issued in Abuja on Monday, 30 March 2026, the Fund said the approved upkeep allowance remains N20,000 per month, not N25,000 as reported in some quarters.

For clarity, the Fund fixed the approved student upkeep allowance at N20,000, which it also described as twenty thousand naira monthly.

Students told to ignore false reports

The Fund asked students to disregard any information that states a different figure.

NELFUND said students should rely only on its official communication channels for correct updates. That point matters; mixed reports can confuse applicants and beneficiaries fast.
