SLU University Preparatory Programme Admission From 2026

Sule Lamido University, Kafin Hausa, has opened applications for its University Preparatory Programme for the 2026/2027 academic session.

The School of Preliminary and Continuing Education runs the UPP for candidates who need academic training before regular degree study. Candidates who meet the set benchmark after the programme can move into 100 level at Sule Lamido University.

About SLU University Preparatory Programme

The University Preparatory Programme runs as a full-time course for one academic session.

SLU uses the programme to strengthen students before degree work begins; teaching covers subjects drawn from Sciences, Humanities, Social Sciences and Management Sciences.

Study Areas Under SLU UPP

The UPP covers three broad academic areas.

Candidates should choose the area that fits their intended degree path, since the subjects taken during the preparatory year can shape their next step at the university.

• Social and Management Sciences

SLU UPP Entry Requirements

Applicants with SSCE O’Level result or its equivalent can apply under two categories.

The category a candidate falls into depends on the number of O’Level credits already held at the time of application.

Category A

Category A applicants need at least five O’Level credits in relevant science subjects.

The credits must include English Language and Mathematics, and they must come from not more than two sittings.

Category B

Category B applicants need at least three O’Level credits.

Candidates admitted under this category must remedy the missing credits before SLU can absorb them into a degree programme.

SLU UPP Absorption Requirements

Candidates must meet the stated conditions before moving into regular 100-level degree study at SLU.

They must pass the remedial programme, hold five O’Level credits including Mathematics and English Language, and obtain the minimum SLUK UTME points. A candidate who passes the UPP but has not yet met the O’Level or UTME condition can still use the UPP result for two admission sessions.

SLU UPP Application Dates

Sule Lamido University has fixed the application period for the 2026/2027 UPP form.

• Application starts: Monday, 1 June 2026
• Application closes: Monday, 29 June 2026

Candidates should take note of the closing date and complete the form before the portal closes.

SLU UPP Application Fee and Portal

The application fee is ₦5,000 only.

Prospective students should complete their registration through the SLU SPACE application portal. Before submission, each applicant should check the name, O’Level details, study area and contact information on the form.
