The candidate must have reached the rank of Deputy Librarian or Professor of Library Science in a university.

The person must also have contributed to knowledge through research and publications in reputable journals, and must show a proven record of sound administrative leadership.

Professional membership and computer skills

The candidate must be a registered member of the Library Registration Council of Nigeria, LRCN.

The person must also be computer literate and proficient in relevant computer applications.

Age limit

The candidate must not be above the age of 60 by 2 July 2026.

Salary and conditions of service

FULAFIA stated that the salary and conditions of service for the University Librarian will be as obtainable in Federal Universities in Nigeria.
