The Lagos State University (LASU) has once again secured its spot as the top state university in Nigeria, as revealed in the latest AD Scientific Index ranking for 2024.
For three years in a row, LASU has held its position as the leading state university in Nigeria, underscoring its commitment to academic and research excellence.
In the recently released rankings, LASU was not only rated as the best among state universities but also claimed the 10th spot among 174 public universities across Nigeria.
It also earned the 12th position overall among 237 ranked universities in the country.

LASU Professors Ranked Among Top Scientists in Nigeria
In addition to its overall ranking, five distinguished professors from the College of Medicine of Lagos State University (LASUCOM) have been included in the prestigious Stanford Ranking of the Top 2% Scientists in Nigeria.
The recognised professors are:
- Prof. Adejuwon A. Adeneye from the Department of Pharmacology, Therapeutics & Toxicology, ranked at number 157.
- Prof. Idowu O. Senbanjo from the Department of Pediatrics & Child Health, ranked at number 213.
- Prof. Anthonia O. Ogbera from the Department of Medicine, ranked at number 219.
- Prof. Olumuyiwa O. Odusanya from the Department of Community Health & Primary Health Care, ranked at number 220.
- Prof. Olayinka O. Ogunleye from the Department of Pharmacology, Therapeutics & Toxicology, ranked at number 229.
The Stanford University ranking is one of the most respected global recognitions for academic excellence, acknowledging the contributions of the most cited scientists each year.
