LASU Indigeneship Verification Exercise 2026/2027: Dates, Venues and How to Apply

Lagos State University has announced the Indigeneship Verification Exercise for the 2026/2027 admission process. The exercise is for candidates of Lagos State origin who chose LASU as first choice during the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations and scored at least 195.

Registration opens on Monday, 27 April 2026, and closes on Friday, 22 May 2026. Candidates who fall under this group must complete the online payment and registration process within the stated period.

The University has also stated that the Indigeneship Verification Exercise does not guarantee admission into LASU; it only forms part of the process for eligible Lagos State candidates.

LASU IIVC Registration Date

The portal for online payment and registration opens on Monday, 27 April 2026.

The closing date for registration is Friday, 22 May 2026.

Only candidates who meet the stated UTME score and origin requirements may apply. Any candidate who scored below 195 in the 2026 UTME is not eligible for this exercise.

Who Can Apply for LASU Indigeneship Verification Exercise?

The LASU Indigeneship Verification Exercise is open to candidates who meet these conditions:

The Independent Indigeneship Verification Committee must clear candidates in this group before LASU can consider them for admission.

LASU IIVC Screening Schedule

The screening will run in four phases.

Phase 1

Monday, 27 April 2026 to Thursday, 30 April 2026.

Phase 2

Monday, 4 May 2026 to Thursday, 7 May 2026.

Phase 3

Monday, 11 May 2026 to Thursday, 14 May 2026.

Phase 4

Monday, 18 May 2026 to Friday, 22 May 2026.

Candidates should follow the phase assigned to them during the registration process, where given.

The interview will hold at the venues listed for each division.

Ikeja Division

New TETFund Building, Faculty of Arts.

Badagry Division

New TETFund Building, Faculty of Arts.

Ikorodu Division

Law Clinic, Faculty of Law.

Lagos Division

International Business Class, MBA Building.

Epe Division

School of Transport and Logistics.

How to Apply for LASU Indigeneship Verification Exercise

Candidates should make online payment to the Lagos State University account through the LASU IIVC payment and registration portal.

After payment, candidates should complete the registration process as directed on the portal.

No applicant should pay through any private account or other channel. Any candidate who pays money to any person, account, or method outside the stated channel does so at personal risk.

Notice for Old Applicants

Old applicants from the 2024/2025 and 2025/2026 academic sessions who have not received admission will only revalidate their Indigeneship Clearance Certificates online.

They are to complete the revalidation through the LASU official website with payment.

Notice for Direct Entry Applicants

All Direct Entry applicants of Lagos State origin must take part in the Indigeneship Verification Exercise.

LASU will consider such applicants for admission only after the required verification process.

Key Warning for Candidates

The LASU Indigeneship Verification Exercise is not proof of admission. It does not guarantee a place at Lagos State University.

It only confirms the indigeneship status of eligible Lagos State candidates before admission consideration. That point matters; some candidates mix up clearance with admission.

LASU IIVC Closing Date

The closing date for the LASU Indigeneship Verification Exercise registration is Friday, 22 May 2026.

Candidates who qualify should complete online payment and registration before the portal closes.
