Achievers University NUC accreditation update

Achievers University has received full accreditation for seven academic programmes from the National Universities Commission, NUC, after an assessment carried out in October/November 2025.

The approval covers five years.

The NUC sent its formal letter to the university on 7 April 2026, and the letter was signed by the Commission’s Director of Accreditation.

Programmes granted full NUC accreditation

The seven accredited programmes are:

  1. Medical Laboratory Science
  2. Civil and Environmental Engineering
  3. Computer Engineering
  4. Mechanical Engineering
  5. Microbiology
  6. Criminology and Security Studies
  7. Sociology

What NUC checked during the assessment

The NUC confirmed that all programmes presented by Achievers University met its quality assurance standards across the areas assessed.

The checks covered curriculum content, staffing, infrastructure, library resources and academic delivery.

Full accreditation is the highest status the Commission grants, and it remains valid for five years.

Acting Vice-Chancellor reacts to the report

The Acting Vice-Chancellor, Professor Oyesoji Aremu, announced the report to the university community and described it as a boost to the school’s academic profile.

He linked the result to the university’s commitment to rich and sustained investment in faculty development, modern laboratory facilities and regular curriculum review.

Professor Aremu also congratulated the Governing Council, led by the Pro-Chancellor, Professor Bode Ayorinde, along with Principal Officers, Deans, Heads of Departments and the full university community.

He said:

“I’m excited to inform you that the University has secured full accreditations of the following programmes from the NUC.

The news is cheering, and a good one to start the new week.”

He also stated that the university would not rest on its oars.

The Acting Vice-Chancellor urged members of the university community to remain committed to upholding and improving the standards linked with the school.
